told on tote is jointly curated by the designers at ministry of design and plate

Design abounds in Singapore and we're ecstatic at how it is front and center in our daily lives. Told On Tote draws from our ruminations on local design and puts it on a smart canvas tote bag. Part-bulletin board & part-billboard, each tote is emblazoned with an idea or issue, hand-crafted, and is lovingly designed by designers for design lovers.

Told on Tote has been specially commissioned to design a customized tote bag for a 5-day film lab organized by 13 Little Pictures as part of Singapore International Film Festival in 19-23 September 2011. A platform for budding and established filmmakers to meet and collaborate with one another, the film lab is intended for a diverse group of aspiring directors, producers, cinematographers, scriptwriters, art directors, editors, sound engineers, music composers and actors. With the "work-in-progress" mandate in mind for these budding film-makers, our design features the Malay phrase "akan datang". A Singaporean colloquialism meaning "coming soon", it's a phrase quintessentially seen when screening movie trailers in local cinemas.
